Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Grand Patron of the Asiwaju Movement, is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in Nigeria’s democratic journey. His leadership, political experience, and commitment to national development have shaped the country’s modern political landscape and inspired a generation of leaders.
Born on March 29, 1952, President Tinubu built a successful career in accounting and corporate management before fully dedicating himself to public service. His entry into politics was driven by a strong belief in democratic values, effective governance, and national development.
As Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, he introduced important reforms that strengthened the state’s economy, improved governance structures, and laid the foundation for the continued growth and transformation of Lagos into one of Africa’s leading economic centers.
President Tinubu also played a key role in shaping Nigeria’s national politics, helping to build alliances that led to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Today, as President of Nigeria, he leads with a vision focused on economic renewal, national unity, and long-term progress.
As Grand Patron of the Asiwaju Movement, he continues to inspire young Nigerians to participate in leadership, civic responsibility, and nation-building, encouraging a new generation to contribute to the country’s future.
